Shimadzu has launched a new On-line TOC analyser, the TOC-1000e. The TOC-1000e, designed for the analysis of clean water, has a detection limit of 0.1 µg/L, making it an excellent tool for applications such as the pharmaceutical and food industries. Small and lightweight (2.9 kg), the TOC-1000e features a mercury-free excimer lamp which is used to oxidise the organic matter in the sample. In addition to the TOC content, temperature and conductivity can be measured in the sample. The touch-screen instrument is easily portable and requires no special maintenance. Necessary maintenance (e.g. replacement of the excimer lamp) can be carried out without tools.
