The AA-7800 is a range of atomic absorption spectrophotometers (AAS) instruments manufactured by Shimadzu, which includes models for flame AAS and graphite furnace AAS analyses, as well as a combination model that can automatically switch between flame and furnace measurement. The instrument set also allows for configuration extensions at a later stage. For more efficient analyses, eight hollow cathode lamps can be installed and sample introduction can be automated with a separate 60-slot sample feeder. The instrument is therefore ideally suited to a wide range of applications.

The software of the instrument is easy to use and includes wizard functions to guide the user, for example in setting up the method. The device also includes automation for adjusting the gas flow rate and burner height, for example, which makes it particularly easy for less experienced users. The safety features of the equipment are comprehensive: for example, the equipment automatically shuts off the gas flow in case of vibration or abnormally high flow. The unit is very compact in size, saving desk space and allowing installation where space is limited.
